Creating Your Own Tri-fold Brochures
The first step is to determine what the dimensions of your Tri-fold brochures in order to create attention-grabbing Tri-fold brochures. We have provided you with Tri-fold brochures dimensions, post card dimensions and business cards dimensions.
We recommend using a program such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create a professional looking Tri-fold Brochures or by using whatever software tools you have on your computer. For the best printing results, any images used must be at least 350 DPI (dots per inch), also known as Pixels Per Inch (PPI) for the final output size.
Tri-fold Brochure Dimensions Size and Setup
The standard dimensions for a printed Tri-fold Brochures are 8 x 11 inches. That's the finished Tri-fold Brochure size. With using bleeds use 8.625 x 11.125 inches. The "bleed area" is an extra 1/8 inch of space for design elements or backgrounds that extend beyond the finished size of your piece.
Tri-fold Brochure Design Tips
Make the document page size equal to the Tri-fold Brochures size plus the bleed area, or 3.75" wide x 2.25" high, to be trimmed down to the finished size after printing. If you aren't planning to include bleeds, the bleed area isn't necessary, so set the document size to the finished size, 8 x 3 inches.
Careful near the Borders
Because the cutting process may vary, it's a good idea to keep all of your text and logo information within the safe design zone. This safe zone is the 1/8-inch area around the margin of your Tri-fold Brochure. Make sure your text is within the 8 x 11 inch area of your card. You wouldn't want to have the last digit of your contact information cut off!
